Before the effort to build a nest on the Bimini top, the female tried to construct a nest on a light pole on a nearby dock. This just wasn't going to work. You can see the pile of sticks at the bottom of the pole on the dock is larger than her "nest" at the top of the pole. This was earlier in the same year as the boat nest.
