King of the Skies
No. I'm not talking about the (immature) eagle on the right; I mean the Red-winged Blackbird on the left. They will take on all comers, right up to a Great Blue Heron, which is arguably even larger than an eagle.
It is laughable the contortions birds like this Osprey will go through to keep from being pecked on the back. Head. Tail. These photos hardly begin to tell the story. It is like the great reversal of the pecking order.
