Golden Hour
We have all seen it. That time either at first light in the morning or last light in the evening when the sky can take on indescribable beauty. It is the whole reason for getting up well before sunrise so that a photographer can be on location when it occurs.
It is called a "golden hour," but it isn't always golden and it doesn't always last an hour. The length and color can vary in different seasons. Because the sun is lower in the sky in winter, it can last longer at that time of year. The photos in today's post were all taken within the past week.
There are times when it can actually be too much. This image is almost sickening, but has not been altered in color from what came out of the camera.
I tried to tone it down in this image, but it isn't all that easy to do.
